TV girls go to 15-2

Lead Summary

Turkey Valley’s girls shot at a 50 percent clip from 2-point range Monday while making up an earlier cancellation at Central of Elkader and winning 53-28.    With a flurry of early scoring, the Lady Trojans jumped out to a 21-6 lead after a quarter.     “We played a great game early and that let us roll to the victory,” co-coach Dan Stepan said. “We need to keep playing this way down the stretch.”    The girls were relatively quiet from 3-point range, making 2-of-10, but one of the baskets came from Emily Busta and were her first points of the season. Shelby Reicks led the team with 14 points, six assists, four steals and two blocks while Elli Winter and Sadie Nymeyer each brought down five rebounds.More on the story may be found in the Feb. 3 Tribune.
