Turkey Valley boys claim a UIC crown

Lead Summary

For now, Turkey Valley's boys can enjoy the fact that they are the top team in the Upper Iowa Conference small school division.  The Trojans clinched the spot with a 57-44 win over Kee High Friday, which was followed by a Saturday 64-51 loss to Clayton Ridge.  The win over the Kee Hawks makes the record against small-division schools 10-0, with a contest remaining against large division South Winn. “This is a great accomplishment and just one of the goals we wanted to achieve this year,” noted coach Chris Sullivan.  The Trojans only have four losses to UIC schools this season, as compared to four wins in the conference last year.  “Tonight we came out and played good team ball and shot lights out and we had our best first half of the season,” said Sullivan. The rest of the story may be found in the Feb. 7 Tribune.
