Trojan volleyball draws a strike in Crestwood tourney

Lead Summary

The Trojans are still a work in progress. Going into the Crestwood tourney last weekend, they were able to put some matches on the board, but no wins as they went 0-3 on the day.    Coach Tammy Vrzak talked about the need for her team to play with more cohesion as they started with a 2-0 loss to the Cadet hosts, then followed with a 2-0 loss to North Fayette Valley and the same against Waukon.    The Lady Trojans played a very tough set in game one against Crestwood, which ended up as the winner of its own tourney. The Cadets won over the Trojans 21-19, 21-14.    Five kills by both Morgen Kuennen and Emily Busta led the team, Busta finished with seven digs and two aces while Kuennen aced three times on a 7-for-7 serving effort. The rest of the story may be found in the Sept. 16 Tribune.
