Trojan girls welcome new coach to the fold

Lead Summary

Only one event went to state last year for the Turkey Valley girls track team, and Dalton Hackman — in his first year as head coach for TVHS track — is going to want to change that this year.
With nine returning letterwinners, Hackman and volunteer assistants Timothy Kruckman, Sarah Bakula and Amanda Lawless have a good start on that goal.
The nine letterwinners include senior Karissa Schmidt, juniors Katlyn Baumler, Breanna Busta, Addyson Einwalter, Lindsey Jackson and Avery Reicks, along with sophomores Jaycie Byrne, Sayler Drilling and Aleah Hackman.
“We have good numbers across the board this year with 23 girls out,” said the rookie head coach. “Looking ahead, I would say that our distance events are looking strong and we will be able to put together some competitive relays as well.”
