Trojan girls continue UIC dominance

Lead Summary

It wasn't as big of a comeback as a certain football team made Sunday, but when Turkey Valley erased a 21-18 Kee High halftime lead and went on to win 42-39 last Friday, it was still a very big win. Turkey Valley is ranked second in Class 1A and the Kee Hawks are fifth.    The Lady Trojans followed with another important victory the next night — 56-40 at Clayton Ridge — to clinch the Upper Iowa title of both the large and small school divisions, for the third straight year.    At Turkey Valley in December, the Trojans won over Kee by nearly 30 points, but playing in Lansing is apparently a different story. "It is a tough place to play," admitted co-coach Dan Stepan. "This was a good road win for the girls."    Kee was actually up by as much as eight points in the second quarter, 21-13 with three minutes remaining, before the TV girls closed the half on a 5-0 run.  The rest of the story may be found in the Feb. 7 Tribune.
