Thomas Nosbisch, age 73, passed away in Des Moines on Friday, Sept. 4, 2020.
Private family burial with full military rites will be held at Iowa Veterans Cemetery, 34024 Veterans Memorial Drive, Adel. A celebration of Tom’s life will be held at a later date.
He was born in New Hampton, on Nov. 18, 1946, to Sophia and Joseph Nosbisch, Sr.
Tom attended school in North Washington, , graduating from New Hampton High School in 1964.
He entered the United States Army in 1966 and was honorably discharged in 1969. Tom was a member of AmVets Post 2 on 5th Avenue in Des Moines.
Tom met Jo in 1981 while working at Iowa Packing House and they were united in marriage by Rev. Robertson on July 2, 1988, at Water Works Park in Des Moines.
He enjoyed bowling, watching professional wrestling, playing cards and other games on the computer such as cribbage, euchre, and poker.
Above all else, Tom cherished time spent with his family, especially his great-grandson.
Tom is survived by his wife, Sondra Jolene Nosbisch; daughter, Amy Lynn (Gary) Clark; granddaughter, Casey Nosbisch (fiancée, Felipe); great-grandchildren, Giovonni, Arianna, and Kendrick; stepdaughter, Michelle (Scott) Torres; step-grandchildren, Brooke, Kerigan, and Ava Torres; step-granddaughter, Alicia (Pete) Freeman; step-granddaughter and great-niece, Kimberly (Chivas) Keller; step-great-grandchildren, Noah, Dallas, Aubree, Allie, and Derrick; as well as his sisters, Beverly Goebel and Betty Nosbisch.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph Nosbisch, Jr., Richard “Tiny” Nosbisch, Bob Mike Nosbisch, and Bill Nosbisch; sister, Mary Dreckman; and his step son, John Kenneth Houge.
