Pins take Huskies higher at Top of Iowa

Lead Summary

Coach Al Frost’s predictions came up a little short Saturday.    “I thought our kids would finish maybe 11th, 12th in the conference,” he said after the Huskies actually were ninth at the meet among the 16 teams. “We had some boys get some bonus points, those helped us move up in the ranks.”    Winning the title at 132 was Tristen Brase, while Brock Dietz was third at 106 and Nathan Dettmer fourth at 152. More team points were contributed by a fifth-place finish by Jakob Whitinger at 113, a seventh place finish by Evan Kalainoff at 170 and an eighth-place finish by Jayden Jost at 220.    Brase went to 37-10 on the season with his title run, which included four pins. Of his 37 wins, 31 have been by fall.  For all the Nashua-Plainfield results, please see the Feb. 2 Reporter.
