Lead Summary

Nashua Park Board announces ‘County Camp Weeks’ at Cedar View Campground following Labor Day weekend! The success of the Nashua parks is largely dependent on local support and the Nashua Park Board has established ‘County Camp Weeks’ to thank their local patrons.During the designated promotional camp week, campers whose license plate matches the criteria of the promotion may camp for free Sunday – Tuesday when they pay for camping Wednesday – Saturday of the same week. Sept. 11-17 is “Floyd” County week, Sept. 18-24 is “Chickasaw” County week and Oct. 2 to Park Close Date (TBD) are designated state of “Iowa” weeks. The week leading up to the inaugural Halloween Party weekend 10/1 will observe normal rates.According to Park Board Chairman Ryan Jung, the idea originated this spring from Camp Host Brian Stillions.“Brian showed up at the Camp Host interview with many ideas to better our park and the camper experience, county camp weeks was one of those ideas. Brian has excelled at delivering a friendly, consistent, enjoyable camper experience this summer. We value Brian’s input on bettering the park, and the Park Board was in full support of initiating this new promotion for campers,” Jung stated. During the promotional weeks, campers may take advantage of free camping if the license plate on their registered vehicle matches the promotion criteria. Campers may stay all three extra nights for free, or just arrive a day or two early for the weekend. All Iowa residents are invited to take advantage of the promotion during the month of October starting 10/2.The promotion will save campers up to $60 off the weekly rate.
