Just how low can they go?

Lead Summary

After setting another school girls golf record, the question could be asked — are the New Hampton girls peaking too soon?    The scores they've been recording this season are more indicative of the late season, although there are plenty of teams in the state that won't ever come close to the 166 the Chickasaws used to defeat Decorah's 200 with Monday.    That score set a new 9-hole record for the girls by 10 strokes, breaking a 176 that was set in 2015. It was the third record to fall from the season that saw New Hampton win the conference tournament for the first time in school history and advance to the state meet for the first time.    "Hopefully we're not peaking," said coach Eric Olson. "Some girls have some swing issues we're working on. We had 14 girls on the course today and every one of them talked about some strokes left out there."  For the full story, please see the April 28 Tribune.
