South Winn teams punch tickets to state

Lead Summary

Although an individual race might seem to drag on forever, Turkey Valley’s Sadie Nymeyer was surprised at how quickly the cross country season passed by this year.  “It’s crazy to think this is our last district meet,” she said after the South Winn girls team she and Shelby Reicks ran for qualified for state for the second time in the two years they’ve competed with the Warriors.  But this year the Warrior boys also advance, led by Turkey Valley's own Jordon Snyder. His time of 17:23 put him in sixth place.  “I was hoping for a time about in that range,” said the Warrior junior. “But I was hoping for 10th, so sixth is a bit of a surprise.”  For the results of the three Turkey Valley runners, please see the Oct. 25 Tribune.
