Huskies loss is a painful affair

Lead Summary

Losing Friday night was tough enough on Nashua-Plainfield coach Chase Sudol and his Huskies. But the injury report following the Huskies’ 22-7 loss to Hudson may have been worse.Already playing without center Tanner Haut, the Huskies’ lost two more players — Nick Bucknell, one of the leaders of the defense and key lineman Keegan Crawford — to injuries during the non-district game.“You hate injuries all the time, and after last year when we were just cursed, I was hoping we got them all out of the way,” Sudol said after his team fell to 1-1. “But we’re thin — especially up front — and we just can’t afford them. It’s tough because we’re asking freshmen and sophomores to step up. ”Sudol is hoping that both Haut and Crawford will be back this Friday when the Huskies kick off Class A, District 3 play against St. Ansgar, but Bucknell, who dislocated a shoulder, is in all likelihood lost for the season.More on the story may be found in the Sept. 8 Reporter.
