Geri Ellen Thomas, 47, of New Hampton and formerly of Sumner, died Saturday, September 8, 2018, at Mercy Medical Center in Mason City.
Funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at the United Methodist Church in Sumner with Rev. Mike Christie officiating.  Interment will follow at Wilson Grove Cemetery, rural Sumner. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 11th  at Becker-Milnes Funeral Home in Sumner and for one hour preceding services at the church on Wednesday. Memorials may be made to the family for later designation. Online condolences may be left at www.beckermilnesrettig.com.
Geri Ellen, daughter of Jerry and Donna (Bowers) Thomas was born December 29, 1970, at Community Memorial Hospital in Sumner. She was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Sumner and received her education in the Sumner Schools. Geri was a certified nursing assistant at local nursing homes for several years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sumner. Geri enjoyed going for walks, her cats and dogs, living in the country, but most especially cherished time spent with her family, children, and grandchildren.
Geri is survived by her daughter, Kasey (Anthony) Willison of Charles City; two grandchildren, Poseidon and Aphrodite Willison of Charles City; mother and father, Donna and Jerry Thomas of Sumner; four sisters, Cindy (Ron) Wolff of Ackley, June Williams of Corvallis, Oregon, Brenda (Montie) Numendal of Oelwein, and Patty Nesbitt of Waverly; three nieces; four nephews, several great-nieces and nephews; and her fiancé, Chandler Barnes of New Hampton.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents; two sons, Jake and Nathan; and grandson, Michael.
