Edward "Eddie" Throndson, 87

Edward "Eddie" Throndson, age 87 of Lawler,  died Sunday, Jan. 31, 2021, at Allen Memorial Hospital in Waterloo.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, at Hugeback - Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in New Hampton, Iowa with Pastor Sue Cira celebrating the service.
Friends may greet the family from 4 - 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 9, 2021, at Hugeback - Johnson Funeral Home & Crematory in New Hampton. It is required to practice social distancing and wear face masks to both the funeral and visitation.
Edward Clarence Throndson was born March 29, 1933, to Clarence and Eva (Galthney) Throndson in Lawler. Eddie grew up and attended school in Lawler. Eddie staring working various farm jobs until he signed up for the US Army at age 20. Eddie served in the Korean War from 1953-1955 and was discharged at age 22. When Eddie came home he went to work at Oliver in Charles City. A few years later he moved to California and that’s where he met Victory Menzie. The couple was married on August 19, 1969, and to this union, four children were born.
Eddie started trucking over the road for many years. Eddie’s most beloved hobby was fishing. His favorite place to fish was in Nashua under the same tree alongside the Cedar River. He knew where the fish lived and was content catching and releasing from his chair. Many times his family and friends wanted him to travel to explore a new fishing hole, but Eddie loved his spot in Nashua.
Eddie is survived by his wife of 51 years, Vicky Throndson of Lawler; sons: Bruce Throndson of Waterloo, Clyde Sr. (Debra) Throndson of Lawler, David Throndson Sr. of Oelwein, Rick Throndson of Charles City; daughter, Andrina (Mark) Foley of Oelwein; twelve grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews; three sisters, Caroline Ohm of New Hampton, Mary Markee of Lawler, and Bonnie Kestel of New Hampton.
Eddie was preceded in death by his parents; son, David Throndson; daughter, Victoria Burst; five brothers; Bob Lampman, Paul Throndson, Ralph Throndson, Ole Throndson, Tom Throndson; two sisters: Myrtle Wolfe, Virginia Cutsforth.
