Chickasaws hit a rough patch

Lead Summary

The start wasn’t bad, but the middle was, in a word, putrid.  And it cost the New Hampton boys basketball dearly in a 75-57 loss to Crestwood that jumbled  the Northeast Iowa Conference standings once again.  “It was ugly. We played no defense and you can’t do that and win in this league,” said New Hampton coach Chad Sweitzer, whose team fell to 8-8 overall and 4-4 in the NEIC. “We need to learn from this, but we probably need to do a lot of forgetting too and get back to the way we played last week.”  Despite the loss, the Chickasaws still have a relatively decent chance of finishing second in the NEIC.   More on the story may be found in the Feb. 3 Tribune.
