Chickasaws get a lift with return of Wemark

Lead Summary

Superman he is not.
But New Hampton junior forward Drake Wemark brings a lot to the table where the New Hampton boys basketball team is concerned.
He's back!!!
And his return couldn't have come at a better time for the Chickasaws and head coach Ryan Rausch — whose team broke a four-game losing streak with a lockdown 45-28 victory on Waterloo Columbus' home floor this past Tuesday.
Wemark's return to action was an early Christmas present that should pay big dividends come the start of the New Year for all involved with the Chickasaw hoops program.
Wemark suiting up against Columbus sure did — even in the limited action he did see.
New Hampton (3-7) has encountered some rough patches prior to last Tuesday's road game at Columbus. The wins out on the hardwood for NH haven't equaled up to the team's expectations or goals headed into the 2020-2021 season.
Nonetheless, the return of Wemark — New Hampton's leading scorer from a year ago — is a welcome sight for Chickasaws hoops fans.
