Chickasaw girls clinch third

Lead Summary

Chickasaw coach Matt Schult wasn't worried when his girls basketball team was tied 11-11 after a quarter with the league's 0-9 Decorah Vikings.  Nor was there concern when they were tied 22-22 at the half, or 35-35 after three quarters.  The NH girls outscored the Vikings by 10 points in the fourth quarter on Thursday for a 52-42 win, then went back on the road to Oelwein the next night and handled the Huskies, 70-49.  That clinches third place for the Chickasaws in the Northeast Iowa Conference, as their 8-3 record is three games ahead of the fourth-place Huskies at 5-6.
