Call it a winning Saturday!

Lead Summary

There were a lot of story lines to choose from when it came to Saturday’s Crestwood Invitational.
There were the champions — New Hampton’s Dylan Usher and Turkey Valley’s Jalyssa Blazek.
There was the PR run from Cambree Kruse, the Turkey Valley runner who came up with the run of her career.
And there was Emily Jackson, the New Hampton junior running the first cross country race of her life, remaining in the top 10 until late in the race and still finishing a respectable 15th.
All in all, it was a decent day at the Cresco Country Club for both the Chickasaws and the Trojans. A, it didn’t rain, and B, those story lines took place on a course that is, in a word, challenging.
“You’re either running uphill or downhill,” said Usher, the New Hampton junior who claimed his second individual title of the season. “There’s not a lot of flat ground, put it that way.”
