Big Four Fair begins next week in Nashua

The Directors of the Big Four Fair would like to present the schedule of events for the 2016 Big Four Fair held in Nashua Sept. 1 through Sept. 5 (Labor Day Weekend).  Entry day is Sept. 1.  On Friday, Sept. 2, the third annual Tractor Ride will be held.  The ride will start at 10:30 a.m. at the Fairgrounds and will be a different route from last year.  The Floyd County Pullers Truck and Tractor Pull will be held in front of the Grandstands at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.Saturday, Sept. 3 will begin with a Bean Bag Tournament at 11 a.m. At 1 p.m. is our Family Fun Day in the Grandstands. Magician Keith Leff will entertain all ages. A great time to come out to the fair and enjoy the fabulous midway from Gopher State Expositions.  If you didn’t make it to the fair in 2015, you will be thoroughly impressed with the rides and the food that Gopher State brings to the Big 4 Fair.  Figure 8 Races will start in front of the Grandstands at 6:30 p.m., followed by an outstanding display by Flashing Thunder Fireworks.   On Sunday, Sept. 4, the ever exciting Iowa-Minnesota Chuck Wagon Races will take place in front of the Grandstands at 2 p.m. (rain or shine).  A Karaoke Contest with cash prizes will take place at 5 p.m. in the Beer Tent.  A new evening event of Tough Truck Races will start at 7 p.m. Stage Write will be performing in the Beer Tent immediately following the races. There will be no cover charge to come and enjoy the music.The Fair will close out on Monday with more thrilling Chuck Wagon Races at 2 p.m. The Beer Tent will be available to provide cold refreshments during all Grandstand events.  Along with the Grandstand events, there will also be various livestock judging through all days of the Fair and an Antique Tractor Display.  The schedule for all events is listed on the Fair’s web site www.big4fair.net.  The Big Four Fair Directors are excited to present this year’s line-up and invite all to visit the Big 4 Fair Labor Day Weekend.  You will not be disappointed.
