Lawler area sustains damage in June 17 storm
By Dorothy Huber
It was a high wind, or possibly a tornado, that picked up the Bill and Karen Reicks shed and deposited it in what used to be their cornfield. The wind left the contents intact, including the plastic jugs on the bench to the left of the planter, but pulled up the poles that anchored the building that were sunk four feet into the ground. The families were taking the damage in stride. “They’re just things,” said Karen. “On a scale of 1-10, this is a two.”

Lawler -
The Wednesday night storm damage in Chickasaw County will be visible throughout the growing season, as many, many acres of crops were destroyed north of Lawler by the hail, wind and rain that moved through late that evening.
