Young but motivated

Chickasaws look to reload after losing six key contributers

The New Hampton boys basketball team graduated six of their top eight scorers from a squad that made it to the substate game a season ago. Even though they lost a lot of talented players, coach Ryan Rausch says the goals will remain the same, and he has lofty expectations for this year’s group.

“We expect to contend for the conference title, and we want to repeat as district champions. We were three quarters away from the state tournament a year ago,” he said.

“Our guys and us as coaches have made no secret about the fact that we want to climb that hump and get our program back to the state tournament.”
