    Turkey Valley played Waukon in a non-conference game on July 1, beating the Indians 7-3.
    The Trojans scored most of their runs late in the game, as they put four runs on the board in the fifth inning and two in the sixth.
    Mitch Balik sent a solo home run over the fence in the sixth inning, he was 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBI, Drew Loftus and Kyle Bouska each singled and doubled with one RBI and run scored.
    Reece Kriener pitched five innings for the win, allowing three hits with five walks and strikeouts, both his two runs were earned. Spencer Bruess came in for the save, pitched two innings, allowing one unearned run with one hit, no walks or K’s.
    “Reece did a great job keeping us in the game for five innings,” said coach Dan Stepan. We put some hits together and made them make plays.”
    The Trojans were 22-15 overall after the win.
