The Cadets won over New Hampton softball in both ends of a double header on June 25, 5-2 and 8-3.
In the first game a double by Sheena Hovey was followed by a Carlie Schnoebelen home run to give the Chickasaws an early 2-0 lead, but three hits for Cresco in the third put them on the board and they added two more in each of the fourth and fifth innings, due in part to three Chickasaw errors.
Schnoebelen led at the plate, going 2 for 3 with two RBI. Megan Mahoney was saddled with the loss on the mound, allowing the five runs, one earned, on six hits with five strikeouts and no walks.
Beth Anderson started the second inning of game two with a double, Darcy Lechtenberg took base on an error and Jess Schwickerath singled in a run. Morgan Roths then batted in two runs with a single.
Schwickerath was 2 for 3 at bat. Mahoney pitched 2/3 an inning, Morgan Roths 1 1/3 inning and Megan Frerichs four innings. Mahoney took five hits with no K’s, Roths allowed one hit with one down on strikes and Frerichs had seven hits with one strikeout. No one walked a batter. Of the eight total runs, only three were earned.
