The Chickasaw County Historical Society met on July 8 in Nashua.
The society members saw the new ramp to the newly completed Kraft School at the Old Bradford Pioneer Village Museum.
With a REAP (Rural Education Achievement Program) grant through the Iowa Historical Society, the one-room school was moved to the rear of the property while a new block foundation was constructed. The school was then moved back onto the new foundation.
The capital campaign for funds to restore and upgrade the buildings is continuing. Last year, about half of the $100,000 goal was realized.
Those who would like to help the Chickasaw County Historical Society reach that goal this year can send tax deductable donations to: Old Bradford Building Fund, 2729 Cheyenne Ave., Nashua, IA 50658.
