Democratic hopeful Kurt Meyer, running for Congress in Iowa’s 4th Congressional District, made a brief campaign stop at McShanny’s in New Hampton Friday.
Meyer is one of four Democratic candidates seeking to run against Tom Latham in the November election.
According to Meyer, his campaign is committed to meeting with voters throughout the entire 28-county district, “because people are hungry for change in every corner of the 4th district.”
Born and raised in Mitchell County, Kurt Meyer graduated from St. Ansgar High School and Luther College in Decorah. He now lives in the northern part of Mitchell County where members of his family have lived for more than 150 years. Both Kurt and his wife Paula are fifth-generation Iowans.
