New Hampton, Iowa -

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade. Bay Valley Foods of New Hampton is a good example of that motivating proverb.
Known for producing a variety of dried food products, the company recently fabricated a very different kind of “metallic” product.
Using railing salvaged from the February explosion at the plant – definitely the lemons –  Bay Valley employees created and installed a much needed railing leading on the sidewalk leading to the new handicapped accessible entrance at the Carnegie Cultural Center – ah, sweet lemonade!
The railing is an essential safety feature, especially during inclement weather, for anyone using the walk, said Juanita Andersen, Carnegie Cultural Center director.
