Many who have lost a loved one to death find it difficult to talk with others about what they are experiencing and find themselves alone with their thoughts and feelings.
Hospice of North Iowa, Charles City, will be offering grief seminars for those who have experienced the death of a loved one. It is recommended that participants wait at least two months after a death to attend this group. These seminars are intended to be supportive as well as provide education about the grief process. This program is open to all grievers, not just those dealing with a cancer loss.
The seven sessions, led by grief coordinators, will be held on consecutive Wednesdays beginning Sept. 17 from 5-7 p.m. at the Hospice of North Iowa office, 1003 Gilbert St., Charles City. The seminar is intended to be supportive as well as provide education about specific grief issues and ways to enhance coping skills.
There is no charge for the seminar; however, registration is required. Grief recovery seminars are another facet of Hospice care provided to Hospice families and the community.
For more information, or to register for the seminar, call Hospice of North Iowa, Charles City satellite, at 800-886-8001 or 641-228-1303.
