New Hampton, Iowa -

On Tuesday, Sept. 2, the Chickasaw County Republicans will officially open a campaign office at 10 E. Main in New Hampton.
The time for the ribbon cutting ceremony will be 10 a.m.
A brief ceremony will precede the actual opening of the office.
Iowa Republican Co-Chairman Leon Mosley of Waterloo will be in attendance, as well as Major Gen. (Ret.) Evan “Curly” Hultman of Waterloo.
Hultman is the Veterans Representative for the John McCain campaign in the state of Iowa.
State Sen. Mark Zieman of Postville will also be there, as well as representatives from other campaigns throughout Iowa.
The office will be located in the old Pliger Bakery building.
“It has been several years since we have had an office open to the public. It is time we offer that accessibility to the voting public again,” County Republican Chairman Jon Hapgood said.
The office will be open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday.
“We will be open on Thursdays until 8 p.m. to accommodate those that can’t visit our office during the daytime hours,” Hapgood added. “The office is open to the voting public, regardless of political affiliation, and you are welcome to come in – pick up a sign or two, some literature, and have a refreshment.”
The office will be open through the general election day on Nov. 4.

Current officers serving the Chickasaw County Republicans are Jon Hapgood, chairman; Carolyn Martin-Shaw, vice-chairman; Bob Lewis, secretary; and Wayne Moetsch, treasurer.
