Juvenile arrested for BB gun at NHMS

New Hampton, Iowa -
A juvenile has been arrested for reportedly bringing a BB gun to school. The New Hampton Police Department and the Chickasaw County Sheriff's Office responded to a 911 call at the New Hampton Middle School on Tuesday after receiving a report of a possible student with a gun. According to the Police Department, the student had a handgun-type BB gun.
One student was arrested without incident and charged with second-degree harassment. The student has been referred to Juvenile Court Services.
